William M. Pearson, Attorney and Shareholder

Bill is a shareholder with Foley & Pearson, P.C. A member of the Alaska Bar Association Probate Rules Committee and a board member of the Alaska Trusts & Estate Professionals, Bill previously served as chair of the Estate Planning and Probate Section of the Alaska Bar Association and as a President of the Anchorage Estate Planning Council.

Bill is a frequent presenter on estate and trust planning topics, having presented before the Anchorage Bar Association on Will-based estate planning, the Alaska Community Property Act (Alaska’s Special Estate Planning Techniques For You and Your Clients), on Trust-based estate planning (2009 Alaska Bar Convention), and for the National Business Institute (How to Draft Wills and Trusts in Alaska and Post-Mortem Trust Administration).

Bill is on the Board of the Alaska Sports Hall of Fame and a past President of the Anchorage International Rotary Club. Previously Bill served as organized Race Judicata, a 5K run that raises funds for Anchorage Youth Court and served as President of the Young Lawyers Section of the Anchorage Bar Association.

Prior to joining Foley & Pearson, Bill clerked for the Honorable Judge Michael Thompson in Ketchikan, Alaska. A graduate of the University of Iowa College of Law, Bill has a B.S. in Finance from the University of Idaho and studied International Finance at the University of Southern Denmark.

Bill is married to Rebecca Windt Pearson, and they have three young sons, Sam, David, and Daniel. They enjoy spending time outdoors as a family, and when time allows, Bill fits in a fishing trip on his river boat and hunting in the mountains.
